From Texas to Portland

Over the years we’ve realized that our couples who are from Texas love waterfalls. Jess and Matt’s Abiqua Falls Elopement was no exception! We first met Matt when we had our studio loft space in NE Portland. He was chill, cool, and explained to us how he always wanted an epic wedding video since he was in high school! We knew we were going to be a good fit for each other. After our meeting we went out and grabbed a beer and some pizza, and he showed us a video of his surprise proposal.

We had planned to shoot their elopement somewhere in the Columbia Gorge, but unfortunately the Eagle Creek Fire was started about a week prior to their date. We tossed around ideas like, Broken Top in Bend, Oregon and Silver Falls just outside of Salem, Oregon. We eventually landed on Abiqua Falls and it was perfect.

Abiqua Falls

Abiqua Falls is one of our favorite waterfall hikes. The dirt road up to the trailhead is very rugged and is a lower trafficked destination.
