Castaway Portland Wedding

Having a wedding in November in the Pacific Northwest is risky. Luckily for Samantha and Garrett they were presented with a crisp, clear, PNW day. Their Castaway Portland Wedding started off with preps on the South Waterfront of Portland at the Kimpton River Place Hotel. We took the bride and bridesmaids down to the boat docks where we were able to get some bridal party portraits done near the water. After that we went inside to warm up by the fire where we also had Samantha and Garrett’s first look. They read each other their personal vows which made for a very special moment between them.

Crisp PNW Air

We headed back outside after the cozy first look and went to the boat docks for a mini creative session with the couple. We were able to utilize Portland’s bridges and downtown as the backdrop. By having the first look before the ceremony it gave us the opportunity to get family formals and bridal party portraits out of the way.

Castaway Portland, a Modern Wedding Venue

We love shooting weddings at Castaway Portland. It’s located in the Pearl District near the Willamette River and is the perfect blank slate for any wedding or event. The space features 14’ ceilings, exposed wood beams (our favorite!), and tons of natural light (also our favorite). There’s also an outdoor patio area for outdoor ceremonies, cocktail hour, and reception events.
