Little Rock to Portland

Nick and Lauren came into Portland from Little Rock, Arkansas for a friends wedding on the Oregon Coast. Ironically, we were shooting their friends wedding video in Cannon Beach! We took advantage of their time in town and planned to do their Cannon Beach Engagement Session during golden hour the day before the wedding. Back up to when they initially reached out to us. We hit it off right away. We learned that they had both done mission work in Haiti in orphanages and this resonated with Jessi very much since she had done that as well. They were both from Portland, but with Nick being in the Air Force they now call Little Rock home.

Arcadia + Cannon Beach Engagement Adventure

We started off our Oregon Coast Engagement adventure at Arcadia Beach State Recreation Site. Arcadia Beach is just south of Cannon Beach. It’s a low-key, sandy beach with cool rock features that make for interesting backdrops and the perfect place to start our engagement session with Nick and Lauren. They were so natural with each other which made taking their portraits really easy. You could see their love and happiness for each other and it resonates so well in the images.

After the warmup we packed up, headed north and got ready for their Cannon Beach Engagement session. They did an outfit swap and we caught golden hour light just south of Haystack Rock. We had a gorgeous view of this monumental rock feature and utilized it as our backdrop. We were chasing the light during the entire engagement session and we couldn’t stop taking photos. It was too good.
